Each design piece handwoven on an ancient loom with the ancestral Ukrainian technique of lizhykarstvo, passed down from mother to daughter in the Carpathians, a mountainous region of Ukraine. Loosely woven stitching recalls the feeling of soft, crumbly soil. The nature of the tapestry and of earth herself intersect in a weaving process guided by nature.
